Ever since 1978
Ever since the first Puistoblues event, the shores of Tuusulanjärvi Lake have seen fabulous artists of the blue music and people of this cold Northern country stroll towards the green grasses of Vanhankylänniemi in the city of Järvenpää.
Puistoblues 1978 will remain in history as the only time when all of the leading performers were Finnish. The artists of this first festival were not born yesterday, though. Names such as Albert Järvinen, Dave Lindholm and Nono Söderberg were and still are at the forefront of Finnish blues music.
From that day on, being in Järvenpää at the end of June has meant meeting some of the finest and most charismatic artists in the world. During the years, names like B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Carlos Santana and Lynyrd Skynyrd have definitely left no blues lover cold.
The following list will show all the artists who have performed in the main concert at Vanhankylänniemi. Those friends of ”root music” who have already visited Puistoblues earlier will be able to tune themselves to next summer´s blues feelings by reminiscing the names of the previous years.
